Alaska’s New Law Allows On-Site Marijuana Use at Dispensaries

Lt Governor Kevin Meyer signed Alaska’s new on-site marijuana consumption bill into law allowing for up to one gram of marijuana flower or edibles containing 10 mg of THC or less to be consumed per day at participating dispensaries.

Alaskan dispensaries that wish to offer on-site marijuana use must pay a $1,000 application fee and an annual fee, KTVA 11 News reports.

Some of the bill’s regulations include:

  • On-site consumption must be in a freestanding building
  • Separate ventilation systems must be in place
  • THC concentrates will not be permitted
  • No on-site use for employees
  • Marijuana can only be consumed at the dispensary purchased from
  • Local jurisdictions can opt-out of allowing on-site consumption

The new law takes effect on April 11.
