Cannabis-Friendly Church Opens in Arizona

Cannabis enthusiasts in Arizona now have a new place to congregate and connect through cannabis. Fellowly Church is a Scottsdale-based nonprofit that brings believers together for healing and connection to God through communion and prayer with sacramental entheogens, such as cannabis.

Fellowly’s faith in entheogens stems from humans’ ancestral use of them in religious ceremonies around the world for thousands of years. It’s Fellowly’s belief that entheogens are the greatest sacraments that nature offers, and that they raise awareness so that believers can access a direct connection to God.

Cannabis became legal for adult-use in Arizona in 2021; however, if it weren’t, the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 does allow churches to responsibly use sacramental entheogens—such as cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms, ayahuasca, peyote, among others—for religious purposes.

Fellowly Church is accepting new members, or “Fellows,” to join the church and participate in its religious and social activities.
