Connecticut Surpasses 19,000 Medical Marijuana Patients

Connecticut’s medical marijuana program now has 19,223 registered patients.

The 19,000+ patients have nine dispensaries available to them throughout the state, according to CT News Junkie. Adults can qualify under one or more of the state’s 22 qualifying conditions. Six conditions have been approved for those 18 years of age and younger.

Patient counts by county are:

  • Hartford County – 4,775
  • New Haven County – 4,462
  • Fairfield County – 3,916
  • New London County – 2,130
  • Litchfield County – 1,181
  • Middlesex County – 1,168
  • Tolland County – 932
  • Windham County – 669

Dispensaries are located in:

  • Bethel
  • Branford
  • Bristol
  • Hartford
  • Milford – 2 available
  • South Windsor
  • Uncasville
  • Waterbury

Several bills this past legislative session were introduced to legalize recreational marijuana in Connecticut, but they didn’t get out of committee. Some say that they are hopeful that Connecticut’s lawmakers will take a closer look at its potential for bringing in needed revenue for the state. Some are also attempting to make legalization part of a final budget bill.
