Some Connecticut lawmakers were hoping for a special summer session to discuss marijuana legalization since they ran out of time during the regular session. No votes were even held on legalization efforts during the regular session.
State legislators simply refuse to vote on legalization, the Hartford Courant reported. Advocates are hoping that a new set of lawmakers being sworn-in will do the trick. Governor Lamont doesn’t share the same optimism as advocates.
Lamont said, “I don’t know about this year.”
Connecticut will just have to wait and see who makes up the new state legislature and what their positions are on marijuana legalization.
